What do I need to start my very own webring?

The basic requirements to get started are:

• A topic for your webring.
• Some basic knowledge of HTML.
  (You will have to create an HTML fragment known as the Navpanel, for your members to copy and paste on their web pages)
• A "homepage" for your ring, for which you need webspace and a domain.
  You will have to set up a webring "homepage" containg instructions on how to join your ring, requirements for joining, etc.
• After your ring is set up, you will have to invite sites to join your ring.
  You can approve or deny the sites according to your topic, theme or requirements.
• You will need time to manage your webring.
  The quality of the webring will depend on how well you manage it.

What can my topic be about?

Anything you want! We prefer cricket or cricket related.
As long as there are sites on the internet about your topic, you can join them together in a webring.
You can make your topic as broad or as detailed as you require.

What we do not permit on Siterings

Your webring must not promote, link directly to, or contain any of the following content:

• Indecent or pornographic material
• Software pirating or any site that violates third-party intellectual property rights
• MP3 files/sites that do not have the legal right to distribute MP3 files
• Hacking/phreaking/spam or any other site invading the rights of computer users
• Any illegal and or criminal activity, including violence and acts of terrorism
• Any subject matter inconsistent with our policies, or our discretion

What options can I use to navigate my ring?

We support the following navigation links on your ring's navpanel.
You can use as few or as many as you like:

What can I customize on my ring?

Provided you respect our principles and policy, we allow these customisation:

• Your ring homepage. It is your webpage, you can design it which ever way you like!
• Your ring's navpanel (The HTML code fragment that your members will have on their web sites).
  It can be of any size, it can include amongst others, images, an image map, tables, text!
• Your ring's logo. You can design your own logo.
  It will be displayed on the list page, stats page, search page, and the pages showing previous 5 and next 5 links.
• The colours for your ring. You can customize the colors in Ring Admin
• You can customise emails sent to your ringmembers.
• The review page that will be displayed after submission of a new site to your ring.
• The languages used for for a webring.
  With Siterings you can host your ring in 9 different languages.
  English, French, German, Spanish, Dutch, Swedish, Russian, Chinese and Turkish

Webrings will be removed if it has NO member websites at the end of TWO weeks from creation.
